CST4ALL Industry Workshop on the hybridisation of Concentrated Solar Thermal Technologies (CST) with biomass – Draft agenda and registration link

We are pleased to share with you the draft agenda of the upcoming Online Industry Workshop on the hybridisation of Concentrated Solar Thermal Technologies (CST) with biomass.

This event is organised by the EU-funded project CST4ALL: Support to the Activities of the Concentrated Solar Thermal Technology Area of the SET Plan (grant agreement no 101075408) with the support of the European Technology and Innovation Platform Bioenergy (ETIP Bioenergy).

Date and time: 7 May 2024, 09:00 am – 12:00 pm CEST.

Objective of workshop:

This 3-hour online workshop will assess the industrial potential of concepts involving biomass technologies coupled with parts of the CST value chain through keynote presentations by experts followed by roundtable discussions.

Description of sessions:

Keynote presentations will focus on the hybridisation possibilities of CST and biomass and will showcase the success story of the Brønderslev hybrid CST-biomass plant in Denmark.

The roundtable will discuss:

  • Industrial maturity of technologies involved in hybrid CST-biomass plants for different integration levels and applications.
  • Bankability of commercial projects, including funding opportunities and project de-risking.
  • Regional specific conditions, such as procurement mechanisms for cross-sector commercial projects and attractiveness for private investors, and sector integration priorities.
  • Skills needed to deploy hybrid CST-biomass plants in Europe.
  • Market potential and project “pipeline” needed to stimulate manufacturing for European and export markets.
  • Expected contributions from R&I to advance CST-biomass hybridisation.
