Batuhan Ülkütaşır is a M.Sc. student in Mechanical Engineering at Middle East Technical University. He recently obtained his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Middle East Technical University in 2023. His primary field of interest revolves around thermal energy storage (TES) systems based on concentrated solar applications. As a member of the ODAK (Concentrated Solar Thermal Power Technologies) division, he is working on the modelling and optimization of thermal energy storage systems. Before receiving his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, he was also engaged in PV applications, specifically thin-film heterojunction solar cells. Currently, he holds a contributing role in the EU Horizon Europe SolarHub Project (GA No: 101086110), focusing on research related to bio-oil production from agri-wastes by hydrothermal liquefaction treatment (HTL) and applicable TES solutions.
