CHEERUP LOW COST, HIGH EFFICIENCY AND LONG LASTING PV CELLS

CHEER-UP will demonstrate that Upgraded Metallurgical Silicon (UMG) is a competitive alternative for polysilicon to produce high efficiency solar cells, and significantly better in terms of economics (up to 35% potential lower raw material cost that results in 8% decrease in overall module cost) and environmental impact (70% less CO2 emissions and 50% less energy payback time). Combining the mentioned advantages with an output power in the range of that achieved with conventional polysilicon sources, the industry will be encouraged to adopt this new material.
