Dr. Duygu Kuzyaka, ODTÜ-GÜNAM Module Technologies Division Senior Researcher, attended the “11th International Conference on Sustainable Solid Waste Management” conference held between June 19-22, 2024 in Rhodes.
The conference is centered on the sustainable management of solid waste, emphasizing the promotion of safe practices and efficient technologies. Key themes encompass contemporary waste management technologies, recycling, waste-to-energy processes, and intelligent waste handling, with a particular focus on using waste products such as biofuels and compost. The conference aims to involve scientists and the general public, updating them on the most recent advancements in managing municipal solid waste, circular economy principles, and resource optimization. Furthermore, it aims to enhance the connection between practical research and industry, tackling hazardous waste issues and advancing sustainability in remote and secluded regions.
Within the scope of the conference, Dr. Duygu Kuzyaka, who was the speaker at the special session of the Horizon Europe Project SolarHub coordinated by ODTÜ-GÜNAM, shared the project introduction and the research studies conducted during the project with the participants.
