ODTÜ-GÜNAM Emerging PV Division is one of the leading research entities in Turkey with a highly diversified R&D portfolio. Cutting-edge research and product development efforts are being pursued in the field of perovskite solar cells, perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells, organic photovoltaics, CdTe solar cells, and Dopant-free asymmetric heterocontact silicon solar cells. The division’s current focus is mainly concentrated on perovskite solar cells supported with the state-of-the-art infrastructure for the development of both research level and industrial-size perovskite solar cells. The division has close ties with the growing national industry as well as ongoing strong international collaborations with leading institutes in the field of emerging photovoltaics and is currently being recognized as the powerhouse for the development of novel solar technologies in Turkey.

ODTÜ-GÜNAM Among the “Most Successful Turkish Research Institutions”

Based on the official data of the European Commission published on August 22, 2022, according to the “Most Successful Turkish Research Institutions” ranking published by TÜBİTAK Horizon Europe Program, ODTÜ-GÜNAM received a total fund of 1.27 million Euro from the Horizon 2020 program for the period 2021-2027. ODTÜ-GÜNAM has become the only Research Infrastructure among the leading higher education institutions in our country. We congratulate all our researchers who contributed to the project applications. A Greek -Turkish Solar Energy Excellence Hub to Advance European Green Deal We are pleased to announce that METU and ODTU-GUNAM’s Horizon Europe proposal “SolarHub” has been accepted. SolarHub aims to synergistically strengthen Greece and Turkey’s solar energy innovation ecosystems to support the Clean Energy Transition and Green Deal. Out of 26 proposals, SolarHub ranked 2nd and was one of only 3 funded proposals. SolarHub’s objective is to enhance the consortium’s capacities for holistic green innovation and to leverage these capacities to create 4 open solar energy solutions to support sustainable and secure food production in the Mediterranean region.
