Development of High Efficiency and Low Cost Perovskite/Si Tandem Solar Cells Without Using Lithography

Some cell structures with small sizes have been demonstrated. However, efficiency values have reminded low so far. The fundamentals of the IBC technology have been understood and a technology road map has been prepared. With this background, it can be said that METU-GÜNAM is at TRL 2 for the IBC technology (TRL 2: technology concept formulated). This project the TRL of IBC solar cell technology to TRL 4 (TRL 4: technology validated in lab) CAU-KOREA has already achieved efficiencies of perovskite solar cells to 20% with organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite materials. Recently, CAU-KOREA demonstrated all-inorganic perovskite solar cells exhibiting the efficiency of 14% with long-term stability in the lab. However, we need to tune crystal structures and compositions of the perovskite materials for the Tandem solar cells. With this background, it can be said that CAU-KOREA is at TRL 3 for the perovskite solar cells (PSCs) (TRL 3: experimental proof of concept). This project leads to the TRL of the PSC technology to TRL 4 (TRL 4: technology validated in lab). With these components, TRL of Tandem technology is at TRL 2 and will be brought to TRL 4 at the end of the project.
